It was clear that Wally has had a rough life. When he arrived at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter, you could tell that he was a stray ten-year-old dog and that he had spent most of his life outdoors. But despite the hard life he has lived, all he ever wanted was a home and someone who would provide him with the love that he had missed out on.
Wally had gone through a skin infection, and he is blind on his right eye. And because of this, he definitely looked a bit different from the other dogs. His new friends at the shelter were anxious because his unique appearance might send off possible families. But those who really knew Wally could see how much of a sweet and wonderful dog he is, and they wish that someone would fall in love with him the way they did.
Wally is so much more than how he looks, and he has so much love in him that he could give his future family. Sadly, a year has passed, and he’s still looking for the right family who would give him a home. Wally is already a senior dog, and now all he wants is to live his golden years peacefully. His rescuers wish for him to find his family in the shortest time possible, especially since it’s taking a toll on him, living in the shelter life.
The rescuers remarked that Wally looked much happier when he first came to the shelter, but unless he goes out of his kennel, he looks depressed. A dog like Wally would fit best in a peaceful home with no little children and with him being the only pet. Wally also needs someone aware of his medical needs and someone who is patient. But all that aside, what Wally needs right now the most is love. And no doubt, this sweet dog will return it to you two-fold.
